When treating Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) we need to keep in mind that it is a disease that has an impact in many different aspects of a woman’s life. From how she looks, to how she feels, and if she’ll be able to have a biologic child or not.
PCOS is a disease with a broad spectrum of clinical manifestations. Some patients may only show a few signs or symptoms and those might not be affecting her quality of life that much. In such cases, a few lifestyle interventions might bring her hormone levels back to normal. But on the other side of the spectrum, there are patients whose lives are ruled by PCOS. To effectively treat these women, we need a multidisciplinary team to make sure every aspect is being taken care of accordingly.
